How Does the Microneedling Procedure Work?
Before undergoing a microneedling treatment, you will have a consultation with us. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your skin concerns and where you would like to see improvements.
We’ll ask you for your medical history and a list of medications you are taking. This allows us to determine whether a microneedling procedure is appropriate for you or if another treatment may be more effective.
On the day of your appointment, we’ll cleanse your face and neck thoroughly before beginning your treatment. Both the Morpheus8 and SkinPen are used similarly during skin resurfacing. A topical numbing cream will be applied before starting the procedure.
Depending on which device we have decided to use, we’ll begin to apply the tool against the surface of your skin to create micro-wounds. It will be spread evenly across the skin until all areas of the face and neck are treated. Following the treatment, we’ll provide a skin calming serum that can help reduce any redness you may have.
We will provide you with aftercare instructions to follow in the days after your procedure. You’ll begin to see initial results within two weeks following treatment. We may recommend multiple procedures to achieve significant changes in the skin.
Which Is Better: Morpheus8 or SkinPen?
Both procedures provide similar results and can treat skin clarity issues. However, for those with significant skin sagging, the radiofrequency energy used in Morpheus8 can help with skin tightening. SkinPen does provide help for sagging skin, but it won’t be as noticeable as with Morpheus8.
